Kitzy sat at her desk, sipping coffee as she typed away at her computer. She was writing down her newest findings for a new type of plant they had just discovered in California. California was a lovely place to live. It was always so warm out, and the seaside and nature was something Kitzy loved dearly with all of her heart. She heard footsteps behind her, followed by her freind popping their head out from around the corner. "Hey Kitzy! We just made coffee and cocoa in the break room if you want any." Her co-worker said kindly, Kitzy smiled and gave her a little nod. "Alright! I'll be there in a sec!" She responded, gently shutting her computer before getting up, wiping, pushing her chair back into her desk and walking over to the break room.

As she calmly walked through the halls, she heard the sound of faint calming music they played around the lab. It was quite lovely.

Reaching the end of the hall, she took a turn before walking a bit more until she finally reached the break room. As she opened the door she was met with the lovely aroma of hot cocoa. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath in, exhaling before opening her eyes once again and walking over to the counter with a smile on her face. Getting to the small kitchen, she found her friends and co-workers sit around the counter as they drank their coffee and cocoa. Kitzy let out a small squeal as she excitedly stamped over to the cup of cocoa made for her. It even had peppermint flavoring in it! She took a whiff of it before putting some marshmallows in, and taking a small sip, careful to not burn herself. "Mmm.." She hummed, pulling the mug away from her lips and holding it in her hands as she walked over to the counter and sat down next to her coworker. "Thank you so much for makin' this for me guys. You're all the best!" She said happily, taking another sip of her cocoa. Her friend giggled. "It's no problem Kitz! I'm glad you like it."

They continued to have small talk over their warm drinks before the TV Across the room flashed on, loud noise blaring from it.

They all turned their heads to be met with the news channel. Some of them gasped in disgust and disbelief as the photos were shown on screen of what had happened. It was.. it was terrible.. so many people just.. killed.

"Breaking news! Yesterday at 1:27PM At a small rural Park in Nevada, Chaos ensued as a man we are yet to know the alias of, snapped at another and ended up killing 30 people. Witnesses say that Jesus Christ himself came down from the heavens to try and stop the raging man, but to no use. Some even say Jesus brought 2 passed souls back to life, creating them into zombies, who were also allegedly killed as well." They flashed a bunch of blurry photos on the screen, of a man with dreadlocks floating in mid air with a halo. "What the hell.." Kitzy muttered to herself under her breath, looking at the screen in complete horror. "This gruesome attack took place at the park right outside of Reno City Nevada. Now, other witnesses say that what really happened was.." Kitzys mind raced, she was shaken from what she had heard. But it didn't concern her as much until she heard those words. 'Reno city Nevada'

That City was only about 15 minutes away from the small community Kitzy had grown up in.. the place where HER MOTHER WAS STILL LIVING.

Kitzy shot up, slamming her hands on the table before letting out a scream "MOM!" She cried out, reaching her hand out to the TV.

She had to go find her mother. She had to make sure her mother was safe.

Quickly, she stood up from the table, leaving her cocoa behind as she began to walk out of the room, quickly moving back to her office to grab her belongings. There wasn't much here anyways.

She rushed as she walked down the levels of the lab, reaching the parking lot before turning her car on and jumping into it. She noticed her friends running after her from not far behind, and she realized they had no idea what was going on.

She stopped in her tracks before getting out of the car and running back over to them, running up to them and engulfing them in a hug. They quickly hugged her back before beginning to bombard her with questions. "Kitzy are you ok!? Where are you going? Do you need help? What's wrong?!"

After a few minutes she was able to calm them down.

"Guys.. My mother lives there. She means.. the world to me. I.. I love her. I love her so much."

She choked out the last part, tears beginning to stream down her face.

"I-I need to go make sure she's ok. I'll be alright, I promise. I'll be back in a day or so, alright? Don't worry about me." She said with a smile, looking her friends in the eyes before giving them one last hug, setting off into the sunset in her car.

She was going to find her mother.
